    Oliver Wood
    Basics

    Name: Oliver Loren Wood
Nicknames (and who is likely to use them): Wood (anyone), Ollie (very few people), "OW OW!" (what fans chant when he makes a good
save), "Kiss the Owie" (what opposing fans would chant when Wood makes a mistake or is hit by a bludger)
    Gender: Male
    Age/Birthdate: 47 (August 1, 1976)
Sexuality: Gay (and outed earlier in the game)
Family: Both parents deceased; no siblings
    Physical description:

    PB Choice: Jamie Bamber

Oliver has dark brown hair which he likes to vary between keeping it long enough on the top to almost look rakish and really short. He has calm, blue eyes and a mouth that can be cold and stern in one moment, but smirk with amusement in the next. He is in excellent physical shape but no longer able to play professional quidditch because of his eyesight. He's now required to wear corrective lenses at all times which is a pain in the arse, especially all of the times he tormented Percy for wearing glasses. Oliver prefers muggle contact lenses.

He has several scars on his body from quidditch playing and a few from the Battle at Hogwarts. There is a deep, jagged scar on the back of his head when he hit it playing Quidditch for Puddlemere in his first year. That injury nearly killed him, and since then he's prone to migraines if he's under a lot of stress. A tattoo of a Gryffindor Lion adorns almost the entirety of his back.

When he was the best player in the League, Oliver cared about his looks just as much as he cared about his physical well-being. During the first couple of years at Hogwarts, he continued his daily regimen of applying glamour charms several times. But over the past year that has lessened to the point that it is now unusual for him to be seen without glamour charms.

He maintains a perfect tan year-round by making use of Muggle tanning beds. He tends to look scruffy as he hates to shave.

    A little more in depth

Personality: When it comes to Quidditch, Oliver is a no-nonsense player and teacher. He doesn't put up with bull from players or his students. He's very good at determining who has talent and who doesn't early on and while he encourages those to continue to fly and play for fun, he doesn't mince words on his thoughts that a particular person couldn't possibly become a serious quidditch player.

Oliver thinks he has a pretty good sense of humor, but he isn't the sort to play around and create practical jokes, though he laughed at the Weasley twins' antics so long as they weren't directed at him - or disrupted a quidditch game.

He's very cocky about his flying abilities and believes anyone can fly a broom if they really tried, but no one could ever fly as good as him. In fact, he believes everyone should learn to fly a broom in the case of emergencies. Flying, to Oliver, is the one true and reliable mode of transportation other than walking on your own two feet.

Oliver continues to eat, breathe, and drink quidditch.

Special abilities/strengths/flaws: As if it needed to be said - Oliver is an amazing flyer. He's also a very good judge of what kind of broom flyer a person is or will be. Beyond flying, he never worried about mastering any particular field of magic. He is able to make potions any 5th year can, he earned a NEWT in Transfiguration but believes that was more McGonagall's doing than his, and he knew how to duel, although he hasn't even practiced that in over a decade.
